“Women see all these ads on TV for Depends® and other products and they think incontinence is a normal condition of aging, but most of the time it’s treatable and often curable.” -- S. Gene McNeeley, M.D.
Urogynecology

Urogynecology is the study and treatment of female pelvic medicine and pelvic floor reconstruction.

As you might expect, the term is a contraction of two words – “urology” and “gynecology.” While a urologist specializes in the treatment of the urinary system and a gynecologist focuses on the female reproductive system, a urogynecologist combines expertise from both disciplines – focusing on the female urinary and reproductive systems and the pelvic floor.
