Preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD)

Preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) is an advanced procedure used in combination with in vitro fertilization (IVF) to select embryos free of chromosomal abnormalities and specific genetic disorders. These genetic conditions can interfere with embryo implantation, result in pregnancy loss, or in the birth of a child with physical problems, developmental delay or mental retardation.
