Facts about menopause

Menopause usually begins between the ages of 45 and 55. The average age is 51. Some women reach natural menopause in their 30s (this is called “premature menopause”). Other women may experience menopause as late as their 60s.

Smoking can speed up menopause by one or two years.

Common symptoms of menopause include hot flashes, sleep problems, mood swings and decreased sexual desire.
