Emergency/Trauma

Emergency/Trauma care is practiced with a high level of expertise
throughout the Detroit Medical Center, which offers Level I Trauma Centers at Children's Hospital of Michigan and Detroit
Receiving Hospital (Southeast Michigan's first American College of Surgeons verified, Level One Trauma Center)
. Emergency care at Detroit Receiving and
Children's Hospital of Michigan is strengthened by the Detroit Medical Center's ongoing
partnership with Wayne State University's School of Medicine (where
physicians pioneered emergency and trauma care in the 1970s). Detroit
Receiving and Children's hospitals also operate specialized burn
units.
Expert emergency care is also available through Huron
Valley-Sinai, and Sinai-Grace hospitals, and urgent care is available at many
locations throughout the metropolitan area.
