Rehabilitation

For people suffering from serious head or neck injuries, strokes, or other diseases, rehabilitation provides a way of regaining control over their lives. Each DMC hospital and 15 additional outpatient locations throughout southeast Michigan, offers the widest range of rehabilitation and physical medicine services available. At the center of rehabilitation services is the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan, the statefs oldest and largest hospital solely dedicated to rehabilitation medicine.
From rehabilitation after traumas, such as car accidents and burns, to stroke recovery and back surgery recuperation, services include: physical therapy, occupational therapy, pediatric rehabilitation, therapeutic recreation, psychology/neuropsychology, speech-language pathology, drivers evaluation and training, orthotics, sports medicine, medical or rehabilitation sub-acute care, long-term care, home health care, hospice care, and consultation and provision of durable medical equipment.
In addition, Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan, along with Detroit Receiving Hospital, and Wayne State University School of Medicine have earned the rare distinction of being one of only 17 gcenters of excellenceh in the United States for the treatment of traumatic brain injuries.
Whatever level of care is needed, patients are provided the appropriate care in the right setting.
