Women's Health
Women's health care has been a specialty of Hutzel
Hospital for more than a century with strong obstetrics and gynecology
programs offered at Huron Valley-Sinai and Sinai-Grace hospitals as
well. More people choose the Detroit Medical Center and its physicians and certified nurse midwives to deliver their babies than any other system in Michigan.
The Detroit Medical Center performs more than 25,000 mammograms each year. The Detroit Medical Center also is nationally known for its expertise in reproductive genetics and menopause. Women receive personal attention for infertility counseling, incontinence treatment, high-risk pregnancy, osteoporosis, breast cancer, gynecological cancer or whatever their special needs. From prevention, detection and treatment to education and support groups, the Detroit Medical Center offers high-quality
care to women at every stage of life.
| Improve The Health Of Women For Generations To Come |

The Detroit Medical Center is internationally known for women's health research.
Recently, the Detroit Medical Center was awarded a prestigious National Institutes of
Health grant to fund a local site of the Women's Health Initiative,
the first study to examine the health of a large number of women over a
long period of time.
The study will help determine how diet, hormone therapy and calcium and vitamin D might prevent heart disease, breast cancer and bone fractures, the major causes of death and poor health in women.
